WELCOME TO OUR PRACTICE
We are a community teaching practice, affiliated with North York General Hospital and the University of Toronto. In addition to regular office visits, we provide a number of services outside the office, including obstetrics, same day appointments for urgent care, after-hours clinic coverage and some home visits.
We are part of the North York Family Health Team, and as such offer a variety of services, including chronic disease management, social work services, chiropody, dietary expertise, smoking cessation, cancer survivorship, and many other programs. We are also involved in Quality Improvement and Research, and participate in a variety of projects that enhance both patients’ and providers’ care and satisfaction.

OUR DOCTORS
David W. Eisen, MD
I'm a practicing family physician with active clinical and teaching interests in Obstetrics, Newborn Care and Women's Health. I have an academic practice in association with North York General Hospital and the University of Toronto.
I teach students from other programs including the Ryerson University Midwifery program. I have chaired the Family Medicine Obstetrics Division at NYGH, and served on all of the Maternal Newborn committees there. I serve NYGH as Chief, Department of Family and Community Medicine. I have served the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario in several capacities.
Karen Hershenfield, MD
I graduated from the University of Toronto Medical School in 2007. I completed my residency and low-risk Obstetrical fellowship training in Toronto. I am involved in teaching medical students and residents in our office and at North York General Hospital. I hold the appointment of Lecturer at the University of Toronto Department of Family and Community Medicine and am an active staff at North York General Hospital.
Lara Rosenberg, MD
I practice comprehensive family medicine as part of the North York Family Health Team and have a special interest in maternity care. I am currently the Chair of Family Medicine Obstetrics at North York General Hospital. I enjoy teaching residents and medical students in our community office and at the hospital.
I earned my medical degree from the University of Ottawa in 2008 and then completed my Family Medicine residency at the University of Toronto. I then obtained my fellowship in low risk obstetrics at the University of Toronto.
Lianne Butterfill, MD
I obtained my medical degree from L'Universite de Sherbrooke in Quebec in 2014. I then completed my residency at the University of Toronto and went on to obtain a fellowship in low risk obstetrics in Toronto in 2017. I practice comprehensive Family Medicine in the community with a special interest in maternity care and women's health. I practice antepartum and newborn care out of North York General Hospital. Additional, I am involved in immigration and refugee medicine. I hold the position of lecturer at the University of Toronto and am passionate about teaching residents and medical students both in the hospital and community clinic setting.
Josephine Dunston, MD

I completed my medical training at the University of Toronto, including residency training in Family and Community Medicine and fellowship in Low-Risk Obstetrics. I joined the team at North York General Hospital and New Family Medicine Network to provide comprehensive primary care to my patients - who range from newborns who I helped to deliver to homebound seniors receiving palliative care at home, and everyone in between.

Erika North, CCPA
I completed my Physician Assistant training at the University of Toronto in 2013 after practicing as a Registered Massage Therapist for 10 years.
I am going into my 8th year of practice with this fantastic team. I follow patients with diabetes and hypertension amongst other chronic diseases. I also do preventative care visits (ex: pap smears), and provide same day access for acute issues.
I am passionate about health and helping our patients achieve their health care goals.
